POLL TOPIC: The former Eurovision country you would most like to come back to the Contest
A number of countries have taken part in Eurovision in the past, but - for one reason or another - no longer do so. Monaco and Hungary have recently returned after years away, but several other countries are still absent.
Italy took part 36 times between 1956 and 1997, winning twice - with Gigliola Cinqetti's 'Non ho l'eta' in 1964 and Toto Cutugno's 'Insieme: 1992' in 1990. Other famous entries include Domenico Modugno's 'Nel blu dipinto di blu' - better known as 'Volare' - in 1958.
Luxembourg made 37 appearances, taking part every year between 1956 and 1993. The country won an impressive five times (1961, 1965, 1972, 1973, 1983), but perhaps its most well-known entry is one of those that failed to win - 'L'amour est blue', by Vicky Leandros.
Morocco has taken part only once, in 1980, with Samira Ben Said's beautiful but underrated 'Bitakat hob' - the song scored just 7 points from Italy for its efforts.
Slovakia has appeared at Eurovision on just three occasions, in 1994, 1996 and 1998, never finishing higher than 18th. Slovakia's most recent entry - 1998's 'Modlitba' by Katarína Hasprova - is a favourite among Eurovision fans.
