Back for this year, Jury Vote 2007 is a poll that allows you to submit votes as a representative of your country, and where every country has equal influence over the final result - just like at Eurovision!

Instructions

The principle

For the purpose of the Jury Vote 2007 you will become a representative of your country's Eurovision jury.

However, even if you are not from one of the 42 participating nations you can still take part in the Jury Vote 2007 as a representative of the 'Rest of the World' jury.

Once verified, the votes that you submit are added to all the other votes awarded by representatives of your country. Each of the 42 participating countries (plus the 'Rest of the World') then award points - 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - based on the overall voting preference of its representatives.

The idea is that this gives each country - big or small - an equal voice in determining the final result, just like at Eurovision.

Submitting and editing your votes

Anyone can submit votes as a representative of their country, using the submission form provided from 18 March 2007. Once submitted, your votes will be automatically displayed on the site.

All votes will be verified to ensure that they conform with the rules, and any that do not will be deleted.

As long as your initial votes are valid, you will be able to edit them at any time via the form provided.

Leader Board

The overall Leader Board, ranking all 42 participating countries and based on the points awarded by all 43 juries, will be updated on a weekly basis in the run up to the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. The points awarded by each jury will be calculated using all existing votes, all valid new votes received since the last update, and all valid updated votes.

Using the same votes, additional Leader Boards will cover the Semi Final (28 songs) and the Final (14 prequalified songs, plus the top 10 from the Semi Final Leader Board) respectively. You will also be able to view the complete scoreboard, showing the points awarded to and by each country.

Rules

The rules for the Jury Vote 2007 are very straightforward:

  • The country that you represent in the Jury Vote 2007 must be the country where you live
Votes that purport to come from one country but are really from another are against the rules, and can be easily verified against the site's logs.

  • You must specify a valid e-mail address
Again, this can easily be verified.

  • You may only enter one set of votes, but can update your votes at any time
If there is more than one set of votes from the same person, all but the most recent set will be deleted. If you want to change your votes, you should log in and edit them rather than submitting a new set.

  • You must award points in descending order (12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) to your ten favourite songs, excluding your own country
Using the familiar Eurovision system, you must award 12 points to your favourite song, then 10 points to your second favourite, followed by 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. However, as in the real Contest, you CANNOT vote for your own country.

As at Eurovision, each number of points must be awarded ONCE, but NOT more than once. It is not acceptable, for example, to award 12 points to your favourite song but nothing to any of the others.

You should check your votes carefully before you submit them, as many errors are simply the result of genuine mistakes.

All votes are verified - and any votes in breach of the rules deleted - prior to the Leader Board being updated. It is up to you to ensure that your votes are valid at all times.

If your votes have been deleted for being in breach of the rules, this does not prevent you from submitting a new set of votes at any time. However, any new set of votes must of course conform to the rules in order to be counted.
